When Nabi-e-Kareem s.a.w was performing his last hajj, he addressed to all mu'meen. he said that he is leaving 2 great things behind, the first being the holy quran and the second the Ahlul-Bayt. Ahlul-Bayt refers to the family of  Mohammad s.a.w. it is one of the two most precious Symbols of Islam after His departure. He reminded us to stick to these two weighty things (al-Thaqalain), namely Quran and Ahlul-Bayt, in order not to go astray after him.
The Messenger of Allah also informed us that these two are non-separable and are with each other till the day of Judgment. This requires us that for understanding the interpretation of Quran and the Sunnah of  Mohammad s.a.w. we should refer to those who are attached to it, namely Ahlul-Bayt.
Knowing exactly who Ahlul-Bayt are, thus becomes a very vital matter when one considers the above tradition of the Prophet mohammad s.a.w. as well as many other traditions which unequivocally state that adherence to Ahlul-Bayt is the only way of salvation. This clearly implies that the one who follows a wrong set of Ahlul-Bayt (!!), will be led astray.

Most Sunnis are in the opinion that the Ahlul-Bayt of  Nabi-e-Kareem s.a.w are:
  • Fatimah al-Zahra (R.A) (the daughter of the Messenger of Allah),
  • Imam Ali (R.A),
  • Imam al-Hasan (R.A),
  • Imam al-Husain (R.A),
  • Wives of the Rasoullullah s.a.w
Mohammad s.a.w said that not accepting the Ahlul-Bayt, holding any enmities against them, not believing in them, meant not believing in me(Mohammad s.a.w). this, as a result does not complete our iman. when we will leave this world, only our iman will remain.
Everyday we should pray to allah ta'ala, to preserve our iman and to strengthen it.
Iman hai to sab kuch hai.
Ameen.

  1. Assalamu Alaikum:
As we all know, there are many different sects in Islam. Which one is right? We all hope and pray that we are from the right sect, right? Well, sects are not allowed in Islam, you are a Muslim and only a Muslim. You must follow the Qur'an and the teachings of our beloved Prophet (S), that's it. Inshallah, may Allah (SWT) make it easy for us and help us through. Ameen.

  3. walaikum salam.
the right one is the sunnat jamaat.
    proof:
The Holy Prophet Muhammad (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said: "There was disagreement amongst Jews and they split into 72 groups. In exactly the same way, there will be disagreement and divisions in my Ummah. It will split into 73 groups. Apart from one of those groups, all the remaining 72 will be thrown into Hell." When asked which group will be on the right path, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) replied: "The group on the right path, which will enter Paradise, will be the group which follows my Sunnah and that of my Sahaba and this will be the largest group of Muslims." (Tirmizi, Imam Ahmad, Abu Daud, Mishkat)

  4. The Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat is the largest group of Muslims
The Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said that after he passes away his Ummah should remain firmly steadfast upon his Sunnah and upon the way of his four Muslim Caliphs. He advised us to follow this path alone and to be beware of innovations, which contradict the Holy Quran and his Sunnah. (Abu Dawud; Tirmizi)

The Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said: "Follow the way of the largest group of Muslims! For, he who deviates from this group will be thrown into Hell!" (Ibn Majah)
The Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) advised us to remain firm with the largest group of Muslims and remain steadfast upon their way in beliefs and in actions.
The Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said: "Allah will never allow my Ummah to unite upon misguidance and incorrect beliefs. Allah's mercy, blessings and protection are with the largest group of Muslims. And he who deviates from this largest group of Muslims will be thrown into Hell." (Tirmizi)

The Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said: "He who deviates from the largest group of Muslims, even as much as a hand span, has himself cut off his connection with Islam". (Abu Dawud)

The Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) clearly warned his Ummah to completely abstain from joining in the gatherings of or listening to the words of any of the other misguided groups that will appear amongst the Muslims, whose beliefs will contradict the beliefs of the largest group of Muslims. The beliefs of the largest group of Muslims will be in accordance with the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam), the beliefs of the Sahaba and the Salf-e-Saliheen. The Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said: "In the period prior to the Day of Judgement, false and deceitful groups will emerge. They will say things to you, which neither you nor your forefathers will have ever heard before. Stay away from these deceitful people and do not let them come near you! Do not be misguided by them and do not let them cause strife amongst you!" (Sahih Muslim)
